The past weekend gave me a chance to do a little bit of  a detox. Unintentionally, I might say, but a detox nonetheless. I have never really planned on going vegetarian or doing the whole raw food thing or even changing what I eat drastically (well, except for the amount of it!) but I suddenly found myself in The Farm at San Benito for a couple of days and well, I took very well to the healthy food choices and lifestyle offered there. I soooo wish I can afford to do a whole detox program there but there is no way I can afford that right now!!! Anyway, in the two days I was there, I was amazed at how little my body really needed as long as it was filled up with all the healthy goodness of the food we had. Seriously. And this is saying a lot because I do eat A LOT! But I barely felt hungry or craved food while I was there. I could sit and watch my friend eat and not even want more. There was this one meal, in fact, where we had this SUPER good raw chocolate pecan pie with coconut ice cream on the side and it was soooooo good but after a couple of bites, I was all good. Surprise, surprise. Ordinarily I would have been able to eat a whole slice on my own. Or two. Or even three.

And so this weekend’s unintentional detox kind of gave me an idea for the first thirty day challenge I want to do this year: 30 days of healthy eating…no beef or pork, no excess sugar (meaning additional table sugar to anything), and no white rice. Wish me luck. I will start my count from last Sunday hehe.

Speaking of thirty day challenges, I’ve done quite a few lately and I was thinking maybe I should start making myself those little chips/tokens to mark my successes. Kinda like those personalized military challenge coins I saw in some website recently. I’ll call them Ria’s 30 day challenge coins. Hehe. Random. Must be the sugar withdrawal. Har :)
