This weekend I vegged in front of the television (or my computer, should I say hehe) watching the 16th Cycle of America’s Next Top Model and in one of the episodes, Tyra did a teach about making the right choices about food. She talked about “cheaties”, which is really a way to make cheat days a little healthier than the typical cheat days we have. I guess everyone who’s ever gone on a diet is familiar with the idea of a cheat day. For me, when I do cheat days I literally CHEAT. As in badly! Hehe.
In the episode, they talked about how to make wiser choices and while some were quite obvious, I realized that sometimes I make the wrong food choices even if I think it was a better one. Biggest example: picking eggplant parmigiana over a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Apparently it’s not better!!! Egaaad. Another one is picking peanut butter over cream cheese (never would have thought!). And so with that episode I realized that cheaties (or cheat days) do not really need to throw all my hard work away, but to really allow for a bit of an indulgence every now and then. After all, life is too short to not have a good meal, right?
