Yesterday I went shopping with an old friend of mine whom I haven’t seen in about three years or so. It was so much fun to be able to hang out again with an old familiar friend and yet there’s so much that is already so unfamiliar because times have changed. I was surprised, therefore, when she said she wanted to buy some shoes that WEREN’T RUBBER SHOES!!! Yeeeey!!! Usually it is me who is on the lookout for new and cutesy shoes but then she said she wanted these shoes that were kinda like plastic (sorta like Crocs) but not really plastic (uhm…whut?!?). She then said they were MELISSA SHOES. Ah, I said, the one’s in Rustan’s. And so we went and I have to admit, they are indeed cute. They’re just…um…not me mainly because I have very wide feet and since the styles are mostly flat and since it is made of a plastic rubber kind of thing, it takes the shape of your feet. Hence, I look like I have boats. I did love, however, this gold pointy pair that had a weirdly shaped wedge. They were Vivienne Westwood’s I think. If I’m not mistaken. What made me smile, however, was seeing those kinda like women’s rain boots but not like regular rain boots. They were soooo cute! I love how they were able to make such a seemingly boring and unfashionable thing so cute and adorable. As for my friend, she walked away with two pairs of Melissa shoes. Um…and ya know…they’re not very cheap But…they were super nice
