I think it’s no secret I hate cold weather, right? These past few days have been exceptionally cold so it’s wearing out my internal resources…
Whenever I feel this way, I trek to the beach. I need to be in a place where there’s lots of bright warm sunshine and for some reason, that permeates deep down into my soul. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but for me, it does so completely. There’s really just something magical, for me, being under the sun. I love getting all sun-kissed and tan.
However, now that I’m getting older (yes, I admit I’m getting old!) I noticed that the sun is not as kind to my skin anymore. I start to see wrinkles and spots appear…although I’ve always had the freckles to begin with. Nonetheless, now it’s more pronounced. As such, I have been more cautious about putting sunblock and protecting my skin, even though I do still use tanning oils after the sunblock teeeheeeeheee. I also make it a point to read what are in the products I use (such as vitamin E or if it contains salicylic acid or other whitening ingredients) to make sure I can keep my skin as healthy as possible, especially since I’ve been so abusive to it. And of course, I make sure to drink lots of water…especially since my liquid intake usually contains substances that are not-so-good for your skin haha.
But…now that I’m all sun kissed and tan, I feel so much better…but the bitter cold is starting to get to me I tell ya!!! Give me some sunshine please!!!!
