I think I have identified one of the major culprits in weight gain: fast food.
I know, I know, it doesn’t take a genius to know that eating in a fast food joint where food is filled with all sorts of trans fat and deep fried. However, even the “healthy” stuff can actually be fattening. Take for example chicken nuggets. While definitely less fatty than most other food items on the menu, it still is deep fried and battered, right? Another faker in the menu are salads, especially those that are drenched in heavy dressing.
As such, I am trying to make it a point to bring my own baon more consistently. Whether it be a sandwich, salad or a light meal, I will try to make the extra effort to do this. While staying away 100% from restos and fast food places is an impossibility given my schedule, I will try to chose better places to eat and should I decide to order something in one of the quick and easy places, I will take little steps to lessen calorie intake, such as asking for dressing on the side, no mayo, and the like.
