Dog’s a really a man’s best friend. In my case, he is more than my best friend, he is also my exercise motivator and my walking buddy. Even if I’m so tired from a long day’s work, coming home to this makes me put on my walking shoes and get going:

c'mon, Mom, take me for a walk!
Brisk walking is one of the exercises I am able to cope with at this point in my weight loss journey. It is something that does not place too much stress on my feet, legs, and especially the backs of my heels which I’ve noticed hurt so much lately. I guess it’s really feeling the strain of my weight is starting to be too much for my body. Yet another sure sign I need to lose the weight.
An added bonus to having Bubba as my walking buddy is the fact that he walks quite fast. If I don’t keep up with him, he gets choked by his choker/leash so I try to keep a fast enough stride for him. Plus he’s quite heavy so there’s that extra weight resistance that I have to contend with. The downside of walking with him, however, is having to pick up his poop when he does his business!!!
